Prague's bridges by LotharZhou Prague's bridges by LotharZhou
One of the least expected trip to Prague turned out to be the most amazing surprise! It's definitely one of the most romantic historical city in the entire europe.

Looking down to the bridges from the hill on the west, the view offers more than what you expected from a legendary city.

Pen and black ink on A4 paper.

Thanks a lot, I stood on the other side of the hill, looking down towards the bridges and city, did it within 40-50 minutes.

Prague is a fairytale city... It has a feeling that makes you forever nostalgic of it. Your drawing is once more totally astonishing and does honour to this beautiful place. As always I'm totally fond of the light; even more than your precise lines, it gives a stunning realism to the whole.

Can you lend me your talent for when I'm going to travel around the world next year?....

...OK, I just have to work harder.

Thank you, Prague indeed very fairytale, and two days are enough enough for me to catch the beauty of this city. The light on that day when I standing on the hill was actually quite poor, heavy overcast, I have to create light for the drawing.

So are you gonna make some drawings when you travel around? Looking forward to it.

Yes I really intend to bring back drawings and watercolours. I actually wonder which type of paper I should bring with me, I need a big block which won't be too heavy in the bag, but with sufficiently thick paper for watercolours... Do you have any advice?

I have to train hard this year though, I don't mean to do as well as you but I would like to reach a satisfying level. One makes a world tour only once in one's life!

I am really jealous that you can take time off and tour around the world, as you said once in life time.

About the paper, it's also been a problem for me over the years. I don't like paper to be too small, also A3 is too big to be put in my backpack.
In the end I always bring my A4 sketch book with heavy cartridge paper.
I found it's good for both pen drawing and watercolor.

Many thanks for the advice!

Well, I think that you never have the time to do a world tour, but you have to take it. You'd better think about it soon enough of course, I'm a student and it's probably much easier now than if I was 40 with 3 children... Although even thus it would not be impossible^^ On the other hand I had no money when I started my studies, I had to collect it preciously year after year. One has to create the occasions to live one's dreams, not wait for them :)

Thanks! I always make life drawings, never did anything against a photos.
I was standing on that hill for nearly an hour to make the pencil draft, then developed the ink line after I got back home.
